Two Takara Tomy toys bring Sumikkogurashi play to Japanese toy retailers on separate October dates. A toy phone goes on sale October 24 for 16,940 yen including tax; a three-storey character house follows October 31 for 7,700 yen including tax. San-X lists toy shops, department stores, mass retailers and Takara Tomy Mall among the sales channels.
The phone contains seventy-five built-in apps for activities such as pretend shopping and character play, with a dedicated card and case included. It cannot connect to a telephone network or the Internet. Its social-style features are simulated toy activities, not access to real messaging or social-media services.
The house includes more than thirty figures, accessories and furniture pieces, along with a hand-operated lift and suction-cup figures. Sumikkogurashi began in 2012; the phone’s San-X Universe design brings characters from different San-X properties together. Buyers should distinguish the two release dates and check each retailer’s availability.
