Okayama University will hold a public forum about Chinese writer and politician Guo Moruo on October 30, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Japan time. The in-person event takes place in the third-floor seminar room of the Central Library’s main building on the Tsushima campus in Okayama.

Admission is free, with fifty places allocated in order of application. Students, university staff and members of the public may apply through the library’s online form; registration closes when capacity is reached. Reception begins at 3 p.m.

Guo studied at the former Sixth Higher School in Okayama. The lecture uses that period of his life to explore the city’s cultural connections with China, giving a local educational setting to a figure better known for literary and political work. This is the fifth installment of the library’s public knowledge forum. The announcement specifies an on-site audience, so readers should not assume an accompanying livestream.
