A 48-page picture book about Hokkaido’s stoats combines seasonal wildlife photographs with a question-and-answer section on the animals. The Japanese natural-history publisher issued an October 26, 2026 announcement about the volume, which went on sale on October 9. The listed price is 2,640 yen including tax.
The photographs and text draw on more than a decade of visits to the mountains of Hokkaido. The publisher describes coverage of hunting, raising young and the change from summer fur to a white winter coat. The closing questions address features including habitat, food and predators.
The book is the eleventh volume in a nature picture-book series. The publisher says the series includes reading aids alongside Japanese text, allowing younger readers to follow words they may not yet recognize. This format places photographic observation alongside explanations rather than presenting the pictures alone.
The printed edition is a B5 hardcover. An electronic edition is also listed, with the book offered through bookstores across Japan and online booksellers.
