Hela’s available PC demo uses its own map and story, rather than extracting a section of the planned full game. Shochiku Games says the trial can be played through Steam, Epic Games Store and the Xbox PC app ahead of a scheduled December 1 release.

The demo supports solo play and local split-screen co-op, but it has no save function and no online co-op. The full game is the version for which up to four-player online cooperation is announced. That distinction prevents the demo’s local play options from being mistaken for a test of online multiplayer.

Players guide small mice through a forest, using a magical frog backpack for movement and puzzles. In solo play, a duplicate character can help operate mechanisms. Shochiku’s release places the demo in the October 19–26 Steam Next Fest programme and lists further physical and online showcases. The full release is planned for PC and consoles; the announcement’s current demo availability should not be read as a demo launch on every console.
