Maruzen Junkudo plans to open COMICTION inside its Ikebukuro flagship bookshop in late November 2026. The October 21 announcement sets a broad opening period, without naming a specific day or an initial list of manga titles.
The space will sell printed manga together with related goods. Its name combines COMICS and COLLECTION, reflecting a shop concept that links reading with collecting.
The bookseller says completed manga series can become harder for new readers to encounter as fresh releases take over limited shelf space. COMICTION is intended to introduce those works through merchandise and editorial selections made from a bookseller’s perspective.
Further product information and preparations will be shared through the shop’s official social accounts. The announcement concerns the Ikebukuro location in Tokyo; it does not announce a nationwide chain rollout.
