Tokuma Shoten has released a Japanese edition of a picture book set among artworks in New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. Published on October 24, 2026, the 48-page book costs 2,420 yen including tax and follows a kitten through settings based on works in the museum’s collection.
The publisher says the artist used different techniques and materials to recreate the referenced artworks while incorporating the kitten. The Japanese translation was prepared by a curator at Fuchu Art Museum.
International fan outlook and trend context — Editorial forecast
Following the book’s original US publication in 2025, this Japanese edition supplements the end-of-book artwork explanations for Japanese readers. Editorial forecast: overseas readers who collect Japanese-language art books may find the additional explanations useful because they offer a Japanese reading context alongside the museum-based illustrations, rather than simply another edition with unchanged explanatory material.
The 48-page edition is a Japanese-language publication. Consult Tokuma Shoten’s product page for its Japanese title, edition details and ordering information.
