Two older Shintoho crime films are scheduled for their first DVD releases on February 3, 2027, under the Shintoho Kinema Nostalgia label. Happinet’s October 23 announcement lists each at 4,400 yen including tax. The news concerns home-video editions of existing films, rather than newly produced theatrical releases.
The first film originally opened in 1960 and centres on agents investigating an international conspiracy. The second dates from 1957 and follows a police investigation that develops into an undercover operation. Both share the same director and feature overlapping performers, making the pairing a look at related work from the studio’s crime-film catalogue.
The announcement credits Kokusai Hoei and Firecracker as the releasing companies, Firecracker as seller, and Happinet Media Marketing with sales support. These roles should be distinguished from the studio history of the films themselves.
The issuer describes the editions as first-time DVD releases, but does not establish a first appearance on every possible home-video format. It also warns that specifications may change. Viewers should check the label’s official updates for final disc specifications, subtitle options and playback-region information.
