A craft exhibition will bring sixteen artists to Ginkakuji in Kyoto from November 8 to 10. Visitors book a dated, one-hour slot within the announced 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. schedule. Admission costs 3,000 yen including entry to the temple, with tickets handled through ArtSticker.

The works span materials including clay, lacquer, wood, metal, glass and natural fibres. Incense appreciation informs the curatorial approach, connecting the presentation of contemporary craft with a practice based on attentive sensory experience. The setting includes the temple’s Shoin and another historic building, rather than a conventional department-store gallery.

The temple originated in a villa built for Ashikaga Yoshimasa. That history matters to the exhibition’s setting, but visitors still need to follow its current access rules: socks are required, indoor photography is prohibited and there is no on-site parking. Anyone arriving with wet socks should bring a dry replacement. The organizers recommend public transport; the timed ticket should be selected before travelling.
